Which tooth is the implant?
Though not obvious on the x-ray, this patient has fractured his upper right 1st premolar. Treatment plan: Extract tooth, place implant, fabricate an immediate, screw retained, temporary implant crown. Patient will never need to wear a removable partial or go without a tooth.
Tooth extracted, first guide pin with x-ray. Guide pins used with x-rays assure the dentist that the implant position is correct before additional drilling is completed.
Additional preparation, second guide pin with x-ray.
Implant completed with temporary crown on the day of surgery.
X-ray of implant and temporary crown.
The implant alone, after removal of the 2- month temporary.
Day of delivery of the screw-retained, implant crown.
X-ray of final implant crown.
Final screw-retained implant crown, 3 years later.
