This patient is a very healthy 55 year old who needed to get another 35 to 40 more years of life from his teeth. It looks like about half of the tooth length is worn away. Bruxism and chemical erosion are at work here.

The front teeth wear out faster than the back ones because of their relatively small size. They no longer can touch firmly enough to bite a sandwich.

The radiograph shows a mouth filled with very strong teeth with long roots that can all be used to support new crowns. He even had his wisdom teeth (third molars), and one tooth with a root canal.
