This patient came to us with an old, failing bridge and missing teeth in her smile.

We started off by removing the failing crowns and bridges. Unfortunately, there was very little left that could be saved.

Teeth were removed and dental implants were placed. Because the bone was dense and the implants could be inserted with good primary stability, we were able to make impressions and load the implants that day.

An immediate, fixed (non-removable) provisional bridge is then fabricated by hand in our office on the day of surgery. It is designed to have smooth, cleansable contours and just the right amount of pressure to help sculpt the tissues.

Two weeks later, the tissues are already looking nice and healthy.

Two months after the surgery, a final impression is made of the implants once they have fully integrated.

Records are sent to the dental laboratory and a prototype is designed in wax. This prototype is tried in the patient’s mouth and evaluated for fit and esthetics.

When we are all happy with the design, the laboratory is able to fabricate beautiful, life-like definitive restorations. They are characterized with translucency and fine esthetic details. Smooth contours are preserved on the tissue side so the patient is able to clean the restorations easily.

On the day of delivery tissues are healthy and shaped perfectly to receive the definitive restorations.

The definitive zirconia bridge is screwed in place and the screws are tightened. The final restoration is strong and able to restore both esthetics and function.
